RRR SDA is a team of shop workers who want to make the SDA relevant again.
We want to hold the leadership accountable.
They are responsible for our low wages and lack of conditions.
Our Union must fight for improved wages and conditions.

ReplyDeleteNo I think it's Mick Donovan, he's our man. God love him.
ReplyDeleteThe latest SDA Newsletter shows a copy of the December calendar highlighting the Public Holidays. It does state that the legislation for the holidays went through in 2008 but the Newsletter claims it only occurred and I quote "because SDA Delegates, SDA MEMBERS and the SDA Officers worked very hard and campaigned together for this issue" The credit claiming and the self-promotion pre-election has already started.
ReplyDeleteYou will find that it was actually the Trades Hall Council, representing all Victorian workers, lobbying the State Government for the additional days.
Mr. Donovan has done it again! He has reported that he has pressured the Labor Party in Victoria to declare that Anzac Day will from now on be a full Public Holiday rather than half a day. Our information is that it's a false promise.
ReplyDeleteYou've lost your credibiity with me, a first time vistor, RRR SDA Group with your attributing the VTHC with any credit for the lobbying of state govt in relation to additional public holidays. Regrettably neither Trades Hall nor any other union other than the SDA was willilng to stand up and fight for this benefit which has now been delivered to all Vic workers.
ReplyDeleteThe Trades Hall Council represents and speaks on behalf of the majority of Victorian unions. We know that the SDA is not a member of this group, the number of people they represent is far greater than the SDA membership. You will read in the media on a regular basis of meetings between Mr. Boyd and Mr. Brumby covering all subjects. They lobbied the government on behalf of all Victorian workers, not on behalf of one union, but all affiliated unions. But we thank you for your comments, Mr. Donovan, knowing that we will hear from you again.
ReplyDeleteI would suggest you visit the part of the site which talks about what our aims are in relation to restoring conditions. Note the word 'restoring'. The two recent newsletters in relation to public holidays are nothing but self promotion. You may have noticed that political parties sometimes prior to elections use funds that are not allowed to be used for electioneering. This is the SDA making statements and false promises to entice people to support them. Just don't lose sight of the aims to restore what we once had. If the existing leadership can't protect it, and won't give a commitment to restore it, then lets vote in a new team who will and can.
ReplyDeleteI work as a butcher for Safeway on the penninsula. We had a lying SDA rep come into the meat department, gave us copies of the new wage rates implying that their organisation had achieved the 4% increase. We are not stupid, we know the rates were granted under the Meat Agreement which was 4% without giving away any conditions and penalties. Your crappy agreement does not come into effect does not come into effect until September 2011!
ReplyDeleteRRRSDA GROUP is now on facebook:
ReplyDeleteSave us from the SDA
It is interesting that any SDA Organizer would have the balls to enter any Victorian meat department at woolies after their boss's deceitfully and dishonestly gave away the rights and conditions meat worker's had fought for all these years. Shame, Shame, Shame.
ReplyDeleteThe Victorian Branch of the Meat Worker's Union hasn't gone away, nor will they give up the fight to restore the conditions and pay of meat Worker's. Let us all join together and let Woolworths and the SDA bosses know that we are not happy, and that we want our conditions back. Woolies worker's don't want to earn nearly $6000 less a year than their counterparts at Coles.
