  1. The RRR Group has been approached by a group of SDA members and have suggested that when we, the workers finally gain control over the union again, that in future organizing positions should be elected positions. Any rep who fails in their responsibility to assist our members in a proper manner will be held accountable by the electorate.

If anybody attempts to crash our site again, we will not take kindly. We know who initiated the attack. We would ask the organization responsible to not interfere with the democratic rights of working people.

Why didn't the SDA do more to help Coles nightfillers, when the company changed all their rosters and took away all of their penalty rates.
I was told that because we were only less than 0.01% of their membership, that we didn't really matter.
We kept also being told that because of an Industrial Relation Commission decision in NSW back in 1994,that we were not able to keep our penalty rates, even though there is a clause in our agreement that allows us to.Why if they knew about the NSW decision, prior to writing of our new agreement.Didn't they fix it?
The SDA is to soft and are in the back pockets of the big companies.

I was around the agreement before our last one and I remember the night fillers were upset about the SDA selling away there conditions.

The night fillers organiser a meeting with the SDA organiser and the organiser didnt show up.

The vote was pussed threw and the SDA were succesfull in lowering the working conditions of there members.

    Not Good enough !

There is another Union in coles and they are called the AMIEU . at least they look after there members. (you dont have to be a meat worker to join, any one can join any union of there choice )

I remember a time when a store manager tried to get a worker to work every weekend and was quit happy for the worker to give the SDA a call for assistance, but when the worker told the manager they were a member of the meet workers union the manager with drew there attack on the workers conditions of employement.

We are aware that the AMIEU are a good Union to belong to. Our first option is to change the leadership of the SDA to endeavour to win back our conditions A second option may be to join the AMIEU, it may be a way of sending a clear message to the SDA leadership but our first option is to vote them out of the SDA.

I'm a retail worker from Wollongong who recently joined up to the SDA, and I was disgusted in hearing the SDA leadership come out against same-sex marriage. The bureaucrats need to remember they represent ordinary working people, not the Labor party! With you 100%.

I am thankful that i belong to the AMEIU (meat union) who at least turn up and have fought for issues i have had with the company. I have seen several SDA members call upon the SDA for issues they have had only to have the SDA not turn up or disregard them. Good luck with your campaign on making the SDA accountable for their pathetic approach and the non representation of their members. I generally do not refer to the SDA as the SDA rather i refer to them as the company's B, however since i cannot use bad language in this post i am sure ppl will work out what the B stands for lol.
